Nestled in the vibrant heart of Tebet at Indrayana Square, H.E.M.A. Resto - TIS Square offers a charming gateway to authentic Dutch cuisine right in Jakarta Selatan. As one of the few establishments dedicated to halal Dutch fare, this restaurant artfully blends rich European flavors with inviting local hospitality, creating a dining experience that feels both novel and comforting.
Upon entering, you're immediately embraced by a cozy atmosphere adorned with tasteful Netherlands-inspired decorations that transport you to Amsterdam's quaint streets. The ambiance is relaxed and intimate, making it an ideal spot for family dinners, casual meetings, or a quiet lunch away from the city’s hustle.
The menu boasts delightful offerings that capture the essence of traditional Dutch cooking, yet with a subtle local twist to appeal to diverse palates. Among the crowd favorites is the Pumpkin Soup, praised for its perfectly balanced savory and sweet notes that linger warmly on the palate—a truly "LEKKER" starter that sets the tone for what’s to come. For something more textured, the Crusty Pizza stands out with its thin, crunchy crust offering a satisfying bite and a unique fusion twist that surprises and delights.
Dutch classics like Bitterballen (deep-fried meatballs) and Poffertjes met Ice Cream hold a special place in the hearts of returning guests, evoking childhood memories and simple pleasures. The poffertjes, soft fluffy mini pancakes served with ice cream, are a crowd draw, although some find them a touch mild in flavor. On the savory side, dishes like sliced beef paired with creamy mash potatoes provide a hearty, comforting meal, though some patrons note certain items—such as the steak—can sometimes miss the mark in juiciness and seasoning.
Guests consistently commend the restaurant for its tranquil environment—quiet and not overcrowded—making it perfect for relaxed conversations. The décor’s nostalgic charm combined with polite, attentive service contributes to a sense of timelessness here, a place where meals feel like a warm embrace.
While H.E.M.A. Resto’s prices lean towards the premium side, the quality and authenticity of the food, along with the tempting Dutch snacks and desserts, justify the occasional indulgence. That said, the restaurant could enhance the overall experience further by upgrading facilities such as the prayer room and restrooms to match the care poured into their culinary offerings.
Whether you are craving a taste of Dutch heritage, seeking a peaceful spot for a family gathering, or simply exploring new culinary horizons in Jakarta, H.E.M.A. Resto stands out as a delightful destination. Its sincere attempt at bringing a slice of the Netherlands to Indonesia, complemented by genuine flavors and a warm setting, makes it well worth a visit.

Cozy atmosphere with lovely Netherlands' decoration! Halal Dutch cuisine. I'd recommend the Pumpkin soup (LEKKER savory and sweet) and Crusty Pizza (thin but crunchy). It would be even better if the prayer room and restroom get upgraded. Overall, recommended

Been here a few times. The best food I can recommend is the dessert. Just really good. Unfortunately the fried rice I had was bland and lacked real taste. So come for the western treats of you wanna go here.

My grandmother is from Sulawesi and half dutch decent, so she's used to eating brenebon and making them for me too. Food here's are great and the place is quite relaxing. I've eaten here a few years ago and the place is still thriving.

The ambience here is quite nice. The food itself tastes decent, although it's a bit too pricey for the taste. I myself had their Poffertjes met Ice Cream since it's one of the best selling menu here, but to be honest the poffertjes tastes too bland. Their other menu is fine tho. The place is suitable for family dinner or meetings, as it's not too crowded or loud.

I have hope, but then I need to manage it. This is not the best food experience I have. I ordered a steak, and the meat tasted too dry, although I ordered it medium. Ther Dutch cola is not that good either. I think I will not come back.

Had a nice childhood memory in this place, I came back after many years and it's still a nice place to dine. Quiet,.easy, the service was okay and the food was great. Bitterballen and poffertjes are my must-haves. The mushroom soup was slightly too salty for me, but not for my husband.

Not too fancy place serving good Indonesian-Dutch food. I enjoyed my lunch of sliced beef with mash potatoes, and the bitterballen. The place was a bit aged. Price including drinks was reasonably affordable for what you get.
